Marmot discovery hike with hiking guide Helga Tschager
Ascent with the public bus from Welschnofen | Nova Levante to the bus stop Paolina and then with the Paolina chairlift to the mountain station. We hike from the mountain station of the Paolina chairlift on the Rosengarten | Catinaccio along the lower and upper Hirzelsteig trails, past ancient stone pine trees, incomparably colourful alpine flora, rocky outcrops among which you can find fossils such as ammonites and geodes. Again and again, to the left and right of the path, you hear the warning whistle of the marmots, which they emit when danger approaches. I like to tell the legend of the queen of the marmots there. With a view of the climbing wall of the Masarè and the fantastically beautiful view of the surrounding Dolomite mountains, we hike on to the Christomannos monument. Then we take the beautiful path [548] back to the Karerpass | Passo Costalunga. Return to Welschnofen | Nova Levante by bus.
