Männerchor Brummnet
The special name of this special men's choir deserves to be briefly explained. "Brummnet" in the South Tyrolean dialect means "Why not?" and was the dialectal response of the director Clara Sattler to a request for a performance "Could you not sing for us?". However, "Brumm net" also means "don't hum" and reads like a message to the men in the choir to sing properly, that is, melodiously. With a bit of imagination, further interpretations could easily be found.
During its 20-year journey, the choir community under the influential leadership of Clara Sattler and Johann van der Sandt has developed into a jewel within the South Tyrolean choral landscape and beyond, with a wide repertoire. This is less due to extreme perfection or cold flawlessness, but rather to an extremely noble blend of beauty of sound and charm.
The vocal ensemble took its very first steps with "natural" folk songs, not in a concert hall but where folk music is at home and naturally unfolds: in the tavern, during cozy gatherings, family celebrations, or musician meetings. In the elegant ambiance of the Cultural Center Toblach, exactly that is on the musical menu.
