Concert: Capricornus Consort & Stefan Temmingh
The South African flutist Stefan Temmingh plays in a class of his own. With supreme virtuosity, a lively stage personality and creative programme ideas, he breaks the usual boundaries and ranks among the world's best flutists.
In Bolzano, together with the award-winning Capricornus Consort Basel, he presents one of his latest projects: 'LEIPZIG 1723'.
300 years ago, when Johann Kuhnau died in 1722, the most illustrious names of the German musical world applied for the prestigious post of Thomaskantor in Leipzig: Bach, Fasch, Graupner and Telemann. All of them were in various relationships, sometimes even friendly, and shared ideas and music with each other. Bach finally took up the post in 1723
