MARINA MASCHER: "LJUBOV' E MARIA LAETITIA: UN'AUTRICE E LA SUA TRADUTTRICE"
This book is part of a project carried out over twenty years ago by the Rus' Cultural Association, which revived the figure and work of Ljubov' Dostoevskaya, the Russian writer and daughter of the famous writer Fyodor Dostoevsky, who died in 1926 in Bolzano, where a life in exile and uncertain health had taken her.
A fortuitous and fortunate chance led the author, Marina Mascher, to discover numerous letters from Dostoevskaya addressed to the one who translated her famous father's biography into Italian: Maria Laetitia Lumbroso, a young member of two cultured families who had settled in Rome under different circumstances. A relationship of sympathy and confidence ensued.
Unexpected threads are thus discovered that lead back to our city.
