Conference on ethics in the world of artificial intelligence

Sabine Singer will be speaking at the Waltherhaus in Bolzano on 30 May. The pioneer in the field of ethical AI is an ambassador for digital humanism and is committed to ensuring that data quality and ethical responsibility go hand in hand.

Artificial intelligence can automate work processes, personalize advertising, and assist in medical diagnoses. It is now present in many areas of human life, and its possibilities seem limitless. At the same time, however, important ethical questions arise: How can we ensure that AI is fair and transparent? What responsibilities do individuals and companies have when decisions are made by algorithms? And how can we protect privacy and individual rights in an increasingly data-driven world?

Sabine Singer will address these topics in her talk at the event “AI ethics by design – Opportunities and Challenges of Generative AI,” organized by the Provincial Museums Directorate, the Museumsbund Österreich, and the South Tyrolean Museums Association, taking place on Friday, May 30. Her presentation will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the theatre hall of the Waltherhaus and will focus especially on the integration of AI in museum contexts. Admission is free.

Sabine Singer is the founder of Sophisticated Simplicity, Austria’s first agency for ethical AI and value-based business models. With over 25 years of experience translating complex technologies into tangible human values, she helps companies shape digital processes ethically and sustainably and knows how to embed ethical values into AI development.

The event is part of the initiative “kultur.raum South Tyrol–Austria,” organized by the Autonomous Province of Bolzano and the South Tyrolean Cultural Institute, with the goal of strengthening cultural ties between South Tyrol and Austria. The Austrian partner for 2025 is the province of Tyrol. This year’s edition is titled “kultur.raum South-North-East Tyrol” and features discussions, workshops, and various events from May 27 to 31 at the Waltherhaus in Bolzano.
