Hasnain Kazim, born in 1974 in Oldenburg, is the son of Indian-Pakistani parents. Unfortunately, it is not surprising that he, as a journalist who writes about sensitive topics in media with a wide reach and has a foreign-sounding name, receives angry mail. But instead of simply clicking away the hateful, often racist or Islamophobic outpourings of "real Germans" such as "Heinz K.", "Maria gegen Scharia", "HermannThe-German" or "Siegfried Drachentöter", Kazim replied quick-wittedly and wittily. Because he did not want to leave the nonsense in his own mailbox uncommented. Again and again, enlightening dialogues resulted from this. With his comments, Kazim gained a large following on social media and became a bestselling author. Today he lives in Vienna and, in addition to books, continues to write for media such as ZEIT, Süddeutsche Zeitung or taz.
Jochen Schölch has brought excerpts from Hasnain Kazim's book "Post von Karlheinz" to the stage of the Metropoltheater: Armed like an orchestra with a music stand and recorders, Thorsten Krohn, Thomas Schweiberer, Bijan Zamani and Lucca Züchner compete in the spoken opera in which razor-sharp humor defies hatred and agitation.
