Fourth autumn appointment with the "Messa Cantata" at the Church of St. Dominic in Piazza Domenicani in Bolzano.
Next Sunday, 15 October 2023, the Bassa Atesina Castle Choir from Salorno, directed by Maestro Jessica Nardon, will animate the liturgy of the 10.30 a.m. Mass.

Lower Atesina Castle Choir
Salorno's choral singing tradition goes back as far as 1938, the year in which the parish choir was founded, which 30 years later would give rise to the Castel Choir, exclusively comprising singers from the village.
The choir began to make a name for itself on the local scene thanks to its successful participation in the ENAL competitions organised by the provincial FederCori, and the growth was not limited to the quality of the performances, but also to the number of members: new voices joined the choir, especially from the neighbouring villages, thus justifying the change of name in 1980: the choir was renamed Castel Bassa Atesina, maintaining its seat in the village of Salorno.
After a succession of conductors, tours in Italy and abroad, and participation in international choral competitions, in 2002 the direction passed into the hands of maestro Ms. Jessica Nardon, leading the Choir to a new and intense phase of repertoire enlargement, recording of new CDs, and in 2012 the twinning with the Sardinian San Teodoro Choir of Paulilatino.
In 2018, the Choir was also able to celebrate its first 50 years of activity with a concert in the Salorno Parish Church, celebrating the anniversary together with the renowned Vos de Mont Choir from Tricesimo (UD).
