Celia Martinez Aragon talks about her life as a shepherdess in an online lecture at the Nature Museum on 7 December. The free lecture can be seen on Thursday, 7 December at 6 pm at the following link: https://bbb.inf.unibz.it/b/joh-ft0-j6o-via. Info: Tel. 0471 412964 As a shepherdess, Celia Martinez Aragon experiences the life cycle of grazing animals and also gets to know the landscape at close quarters, as she spends almost half a year out on the pastures in all weathers. In this sense, managed grazing is becoming increasingly important as a form of landscape conservation. In the online lecture "Experiences of a shepherdess in South Tyrol, Tyrol and the Basque Country", the speaker explains the benefits of permanent grazing for the landscape, water balance and animals. Celia Martinez Aragon studied agricultural sciences in Cologne and completed a shepherdess school in her native Spain. She has also worked as a shepherdess in the Alps, for example in Stilfs and in St. Anton in Tyrol.
