The volume:
With his habilitation thesis ‘Umsiedlung Südtirol 1939-1940’, the contemporary historian Karl Stuhlpfarrer,
originally from Vienna, published one of the most important works on the so-called Options in 1985. This
work, based on an extensive analysis of archival material, was, however, never received in its entirety due to its
due to its large size. This monolithic work, focusing on one of the central chapters of the contemporary history
South Tyrol's contemporary history, had long been out of print and is now available to researchers and the interested public in a new, expanded edition.
