Into the bunker - A walk back in time

During both world wars, the Eisacktal and Pustertal valleys were theatres of fierce battles and the extensive line of fortifications that still stand serve as reminders. Accompanied by a historical guide, we hike from Natz to Aicha, listening to his anecdotes. Immersing ourselves into the world of bunkers, we file through the old corridors of the Ochsenbühel and Schusterbauer bunkers, with their embrasures and gun emplacements still intact. These bunkers form part of the AlpenWall, a system of defensive fortifications stretching from the Maritime Alps to Rijeka, built mainly between 1918 until the end of the Second World War.
