The starting signal will be given on Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 10 a.m. directly at the start and finish area in Melag. The award ceremony will take place on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The participants, known as mushers, come from South Tyrol, the rest of Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, and other European countries.
The organizers — FSV Lucky Sleddog Club South Tyrol, the Reschenpass holiday region, and ASV Vinschger Oberland — are hoping for a total of 100 dog teams. Registration for the race is already open.
The following categories will compete: skijoring with 1–2 dogs, and sled teams with 2 to 12 dogs. Depending on the size of the team, the course lengths will vary: 6.5 km, 9 km, 15 km, and 18 km.
Participants and organizers are looking forward to welcoming many spectators along the high-altitude trail in Langtaufers.
