In the enchantment of light and water, man glimpses a reflection of the divine that awakens his soul and fuels his search for meaning. Since ancient times, the semantics of light and the cult of water have accompanied the spiritual quest of human beings, the construction of sacred places and the impressive iconographic work associated with religious belief. In the setting of the Neustift Abbey, as part of the Water Light Festival programme, an outstanding conference, promoted by Zumtobel, invites to investigate these relationships. With the special participation of Giovanni Carlo Federico Villa, Director of Palazzo Madama in Turin and Associate Professor of History of Modern Art and Museology and History of Art Criticism at the University of Bergamo, and Giorgio Della Longa, Architect and Lighting Designer, expert in the adaptation and enhancement (also) through light of religious buildings, author of essays on the subject.
