Gianni Rodari said: ‘I would like everyone to read, not to become literate, but so that no one is a slave anymore.’ Free entry.

Reading sets us free, as it allows us to see reality from other perspectives and helps us develop critical and linguistic skills. Reading a good book can change our lives, open up new horizons and allow us to engage in dialogue with people who lived in other eras. However, reading plays an increasingly marginal role in our daily lives, which are inundated with commitments and multimedia content. A book, on the other hand, requires time and concentration, which seems to be increasingly difficult for us. Why does it seem so difficult to really devote ourselves to reading? What is the difference between reading a book and consuming online content? Philosophical Café introduced and moderated by Camilla Stirati, graduate in philosophy. The meeting is open to the public and no specific preparation is required to participate, only the desire to question oneself without prejudice.
