Bread Baking Day at Untereggerhof Farm
The aroma of freshly baked bread has been part of life at the Untereggerhof farm in Obergummer|San Valentino di Sopra for generations. On selected Fridays from mid-May to early October, the traditional stone oven is fired up, and farmer Gottfried invites visitors to experience a living piece of local farming culture.
Watch as the prepared loaves are placed into the old wood-fired farm oven and baked into crisp, traditional farmhouse bread. During the baking process, Gottfried shares stories about long-standing traditions, bread baking in the past, and everyday life on the farm.
As the golden-brown loaves are taken out of the oven, their wonderful aroma fills the air. Of course, the freshly baked bread can then be tasted – a simple and authentic pleasure that has been cherished in South Tyrol for generations.
