The group exhibition Dry Corners with works by Gvantsa Jishkariani, Manuel Resch and Maximilian Maria Willeit will be the last exhibition of 2022 at the Brixen Civic Gallery as well as the final show under the curatorship of Elisa Barison. This is an international exchange between the young Georgian artist Gvantsa Jishkariani and the two Berlin-based Bolzano artists Manuel Resch and Maximilian Maria Willeit. During a residency at Lottozero, a center for textile art and design founded in Prato by Tessa and Arianna Moroder, the artists got to know each other, explore similarities and differences in each other's practice, and ultimately produce new works for the Brixen exhibition. In particular, in Prato they were able to learn about the city's textile district and the cycle of textile (especially wool) processing and reuse. This new perspective on fashion, which ultimately plays an important role in the lives of all three artists, partly because of the contemporary visual culture to which they adhere, significantly shaped the works in the exhibition. The exchange promises interesting developments from a common base, which for Jishkariani tends toward iconoclastic figuration, while Resch and Willeit confront the construction and dissolution of the image between digital and pictorial work.
