Tradition, culinary delights and mountain views. Every year on the third Sunday in September, the traditional Val Casies Valley Alpine Hut Festival attracts numerous hiking enthusiasts to the valley. The festival rotates between the three villages of Colle, S. Martino and S. Maddalena – giving guests the chance to explore the alpine huts and experience the diverse beauty of the Val Casies mountains. This year, the associations of Colle invite you to the 37th Val Casies Valley Alpine Hut Festival at the Gschwendtner Boden – Maura Alm. The starting point is Colle/Schintlholz. The hike from hut to hut is a gentle circular trail, making it perfect for families. The day begins at 10:30 am with a festive open-air Holy Mass. Visitors can look forward to traditional dishes, regional specialties, and live music throughout the day. For the little ones, an exciting treasure hunt promises plenty of fun – and as a special highlight, the “Taistner Gaslkrocha” will once again thrill the audience with their rhythmic whip cracking. In the late afternoon, everyone gathers in the party tent to end the festive day together with music and good cheer. A truly unforgettable celebration to mark the end of the alpine summer – traditional, warm-hearted, and surrounded by the breathtaking nature of the Val Casies Valley.
