Daniel Chaves Gómez is an author and screenwriter native to Costa Rica and now local to Brunico. Moving between the familiar and the unsettling, Everybody Dies and Other Lies is his collection of short stories that explore mortality and the lies we tell ourselves to face it. In this presentation, Daniel will talk about where these stories come from, what they’re really about, and how they draw on a Latin American tradition in which the strange quietly enters everyday life, and reality is never as stable as it seems.
