About Rifugio Lavarella

Lavarella rest stop in the Dolomites in Alto Adige.

The surrounding area of the Lavarella rest stop is fascinating, idyllic and magic, with the Fanes hilly countryside and the enchanting Lago Verde near too.
Immense countryside encounters the Dolomite mountains and Silvestro pines. The Lavarella rest stop boasts a long history. The first tourists came in 1900, and stayed in a simple version of today’s hut, which decades later was renovated and refurnished.
Since the 1970s, couple Hanspeter and Michaela Frenner, with the rest of their family, have been dedicated and passionate to the management of the hut. Lavarella represents a starting point for mountain hikes for many tourists and hikers along with trips in the legendary Fanes zone.
Openings:
The Lavarella hut is open from 26th December until mid-April and from the end of June until October. Upon request, transport can take guests and baggage to the hut.
The Lavarella rest stop is an ideal starting point for mountain hikers, rock climbers with vie ferratas in the Fanes and Alto Adige Dolomites. In the winter, many Alpine skiing, winter trips and snow-walking hikes leave directly from the hut. Picia Capela de Fanes is very close too, built in 2003 dedicated to Santo Ujöp Freinademetz.
