About Comune di Laives/Leifers

Leifers/Laives is the most recent place to receive official town status in South Tyrol. It is located about 10 km from Bozen/Bolzano, and is surrounded by 500 hectares of fabulous apple orchards. It has various municipalities that belong to it: Steinmannwald/Pineta, St. Jakob/San Giacomo and Seit/La Costa have about 18,000 inhabitants - 28% are native German speakers and 72% Italian. The symbol and the emblem of the city is the "Peterköfele", the imposing old chapel of the Lichtenstein castle. Leifers/Laives is very central, so you can reach many destinations in no time!
