On Thursday, January 22 at 6:00 PM, the South Tyrol Flora Working Group will hold a lecture in German at the South Tyrol Museum of Natural Sciences dedicated to Cape St. Vincent in Portugal. This headland forms the southwestern tip of the European continent and has been considered a sacred place for millennia. Its landscape is characterized by wild cliffs and arid plains, it is a paradise for marine life, migratory and nesting birds, and it hosts a high diversity of plant species, including some endemics. These are plants that grow only in a limited habitat.

During the lecture, Nils Bertol will guide the audience along a fishermen’s path following the wild Costa Vicentina to the Cape, and from there along the impressive coast of western Algarve. Bertol is a freelance botanist, nature and hiking guide, co-founder of bnature*, and enjoys hiking off-season in southern Europe.

Admission is free.
