Von Achnanthidium bis Zygnema – die Vielfalt der Algenwelt Südtirols

The lecture ‘From Achnanthidium to Zygnema - the diversity of algae in South Tyrol’ provides an insight into the fascinating world of algae, which are unknown to most people and receive little attention.
The speaker, Renate Alber, will cover everything from the systematics, organisational structure and occurrence of algae to algae as bioindicators (with a particular focus on diatoms, phytoplankton, filamentous algae and macrophytes) and the benefits of algae.

Renate Alber is a biologist and has been working in the Limnology Department at the State Biological Laboratory for almost 30 years. There she is involved in recording the ecological status of South Tyrolean waters.
