"Knoflacher has been criticising the misguided development of our car society and the equally misguided traffic planning that is subject to it for a good 50 years. The human brain stem is to blame. It tries to save energy and therefore persuades us to favour the car over the bicycle, for example. Transport expert Knoflacher suggests redesigning former village centres with today's possibilities. Revitalise the ground floor zones and establish small shops as local suppliers."
