Up to the Summit – Mountain Hike to Wilden Kreuzspitze from Vals (3,134 metres)
At 3,134 metres, the Wilde Kreuzspitze is the highest peak in the Pfunderer Mountains and offers spectacular panoramic views of the Zillertal Alps. Starting from the car park at Fane Alm (1,700 m), the route leads through the Valler Schramme gorge to Labeseben Alm (2,138 m). From there, the trail continues past Wilder See lake (2,580 m) to Rauhtaljoch ridge (2,807 m) and then follows a partly exposed section up to the summit. The descent leads through the Rauhtal valley to Brixner Hütte mountain hut and back to Fane Alm.
Meeting point: car park at the Jochtal cable car valley station in Vals. From there, we will drive together in our own cars to Fane Alm, the starting point of the hike. Car-sharing can be arranged on site. Please note that parking at Fane Alm is subject to a fee.
Refreshment stops: mountain huts at Fane Alm, Labeseben Alm and Brixner Hütte | Tour details: approx. 18 km, 1,400 metres of elevation gain, 7 hours of walking time | Total duration: approx. 8 hours
