UN'OPERA LIRICO TEATRALE

The Bolzano-based ensemble ‘Teatro la Ribalta - Art of Diversity’ is presenting the play ‘Otello Circus’ by Antonio Viganò at the Forum Bressanone.

‘Otello Circus’ is a theatre piece based on the works of Verdi and Shakespeare and is set in an old circus in which Othello is condemned to perform his personal tragedy. He does this together with other characters who belong to the circus: the acrobats, the knife thrower, the tightrope walker, the servant, the tamer. The stage thus becomes a circus of human emotions, in which everything that happens is determined by the passions and ambitions of the characters.

‘Otello Circus’, highly acclaimed by local and national critics, is a poetic universe that comes into its own thanks to the professionalism and expressiveness of its “special” actors (Rodrigo Scaggiante, Sara Menestrina, Marika Johannes, Michael Untertrifaller, Rocco Ventura, Jason De Majo, Paolo Grossi): actors who constantly surprise us and master new theatrical, aesthetic and dramaturgical challenges. An artistic mark, a trace that characterises this ensemble and makes it unique.

Teatro la Ribalta - Art of Diversity is the only Italian professional dance theatre company made up of artists with and without disabilities. The ensemble is consolidated by a national and international network and is constantly renewing itself through numerous collaborations with directors, dancers, choreographers and actors at an international level.
