The Vallon glacial basin. At the foot of the Dolomite mountains

The Valun glacial basin is definitely an incredible place. A loop route takes you to the beautiful, majestic, overhanging walls of Dolomia Cassiana, which are very popular among climbers, with a stop at the Kostner mountain hut. You then descend to the turquoise waters of Lech de Boé lake where you can decide to return to Corvara by cable car or on foot along the old path. It’s great!

Itinerary: Corvara – ascent by cable car Boé (for a fee) – Vallon glacial basin – Franz Kostner hut (2500 m) – Lech de Boé lake – Boé (2224 m) – Corvara (optional descent by cable car – for a fee)
