Gospel: Goosebumps, emotions, and pure gospel power

The Original USA Gospel Singers & Band captivate their audience!

With over 25 years of touring experience and more than one million spectators, the gospel group already boasts an extraordinary career – and their success story continues. They have thrilled audiences not only at the prestigious Teatro alla Scala in Milan but also performed for the Pope at the Christmas Concert in the Vatican.

The African-American gospel group with live band brings the authentic spirit of black gospel culture to the stage and tells its story – from its origins to the present day, from Mahalia Jackson to James Cleveland. The ensemble consists of carefully selected top singers, outstanding soloists, and musicians who, in a two-hour program, deliver everything that makes gospel so special: emotion, spirituality, and pure joy of life.

The goal of every performance by the Original USA Gospel Singers is to bring people closer together through the immense spiritual power of each song. A key element of every show is the active participation of the audience. Hand in hand, spectators experience the power of genuine gospel music. The emotions it evokes make each evening an unforgettable experience.

What makes Gospel special?

A typical feature of gospel singing is antiphony, the musical dialogue between soloist and choir, also called "Call and Response." Another African-influenced element of gospel music is its distinctive tonal system. Gospel music is based on the pentatonic scale, which uses only five notes, in contrast to the seven-note system of European music. Later, in African-American music, the heptatonic scale was developed, adding the third and seventh, the so-called “Blue Notes.” These intervals continue to distinguish African and African-American music from the European major-minor system.

A final distinctive feature, tracing back to the African roots of Negro Spirituals, is the “timbre” – the unique tone color of the voice in African singing. The singers develop a rich variety of tonal nuances. The goal is to express personal emotion: some tones can sound raw and intense, almost like a passionate shout, while others are soft, gentle, and pleasing to the ear.
