The Children's Egetmann Parade
On Shrove Tuesday, February 17, 2026, Tramin will once again shine in the colorful splendor of the Children’s Egetmann Parade – one of the oldest and most fascinating carnival traditions in the Alpine region, dedicated specifically to the young people of Tramin in even-numbered years. This parade is a miniature version of the grand Egetmann Parade and offers a unique glimpse into the traditional carnival season.
The children take on the roles of the adults: trumpeters, Ausschnöller, Ausmesser, and Wegmacher lead the procession, followed by the Schnappvieher and the magnificent wedding carriages of Egetmann-Hansl.
Other colorful floats, including those of the bakery, the smithy, and the famous Altweibermühle, complete the vibrant spectacle.
A special highlight of this parade is that girls are allowed to participate, making it even more diverse and lively. In contrast, in the adult Egetmann Parade, women are not permitted to join. This rule is rooted in a long-standing historical tradition.
