A journey through climate-hit mountains. The Alps on Fire blends science, stories, and images to explore a fragile, changing world.

The Claudia Augusta Library invites you to the presentation of the book The Alps on Fire. Navigating the Mountains in the Climate Crisis with authors Michele Argenta and Sofia Farina, and illustrator Stefano Gaio, in conversation with Linda Schwarz, co-founder of Protect Our Winters Italy.
Long seen as places of wonder and stability, mountains have become ground zero for climate change. The book explores the transformation of the Alps and the Apennines – with a focus on South Tyrol – through facts, lived experiences, and data visualization.

Combining science, personal stories, and infographics, the book aims to raise awareness and provoke thought about our changing relationship with the natural world.
