Temporary exhibition - the golden eagle in the Eastern Alps
The golden eagle is not only the best known, but also - with the exception of vultures - the largest native bird of prey. With its "proud" look and a wingspan of over two metres, this bird of prey has always stood for freedom and power in many parts of the world. 100 years ago, this bird of prey was almost wiped out. Only through strict protection regulations, reintroduction projects and, above all, educational work has it been possible to ensure the survival of the king of the skies. Today there are several
several pairs of golden eagles live and breed in the Dolomites. In the winter time they are rarely seen, but with the beginning of the breeding season and the rearing of the young they can very well be observed.
Opening hours:
Tuesday - Saturday 09.30 - 12.30 & 14.30 - 18.00 hrs.
Free entrance
