Sentimental music has a great power: it brings you back at the same time as it brings you forward, so that you feel, simultaneously, nostalgia and hope

Chiara Galiazzo starts again with Un estate fa. 'In Nick Hornby's cult book High Fidelity,' writes Galiazzo, 'sentimental music has a great power: it brings you back at the same time as it brings you forward, so that you feel, simultaneously, nostalgia and hope. How true. Never as in the last two years have I thought back to the time when everything seemed possible, to the years of my adolescence, of new experiences, of first loves. I listened again to my personal soundtrack of those years and I didn't have to think too much about what I wanted to do: I wanted to revive those songs that are so dear to me and I think that this summer when music is starting up again is the right time. I chose to reinterpret Un'estate fa and to give this title to my live show because since the 1970s this song magnificently represents the sweetness of nostalgia with which we think of the summers of our lives and the emotion with which we await the one that will come A summer ago turns fifty this year. The French original Une belle histoire, written in 1972 by Pierre Delanoe and Michel Fugain, has had a famous version in Italian by Franco Califano and several interpretations, including by Califano himself, Mina and Delta V. For her version, Chiara, assisted by producers Riccardo 'Deepa' di Paola and Alessandro Galdieri, chose sounds reminiscent of the dance of the 1990s and 2000s, a period from which the setlist of Un'estate fa - live 2022 will also draw, where the most famous songs from Chiara's repertoire will alternate with Italian and international hits from that era linked to her personal experience.
