TANZBOZEN/BOLZANODANZA 2025 - L'ombelico dei Limbi
Stefania Tansini
L’ombelico dei limbi
A site-specific performance by a rising star of Italian contemporary dance, inspired by the visionary mind of Antonin Artaud. In her latest work, Stefania Tansini draws inspiration from L’Ombilic des limbes, a text by Antonin Artaud, one of the most influential playwrights and theorists of the twentieth century. The book explores the feeling of alienation from the world, the invention of a new language, and the pain of a fragmented identity. Starting from this material, Tansini stages a powerful reflection where body and voice bear witness to the anguish of reality. On one side, there is the desire to break apart, to escape the world, to fall to pieces. On the other, a longing to rebuild and to share the body’s torment. The performance continues Tansini’s research at the intersection of languages, exploring movement and embodiment in search of an authentic form of expression and deep connection with others. Layered and intense, L’ombelico dei limbi is conceived for non-theatrical spaces, moving into a realm where madness becomes a vivid tension — alive, fluid, and unresolved.
