A play to promote social inclusion. A theatre comic (in German language)

SUPERABILE attempts to tackle a difficult topic with lightness, rhythm and humour: that of "being different". We take the perspective of people in wheelchairs who have to deal with their limited mobility on a daily basis. With the help of images projected onto the background, an illustrator creates situations with which the actors interact ... just like in a comic strip.

5 actors, 2 of them in wheelchairs, talk about their dreams, their daily lives, the looks of the "others", the constant dependence on carers, the lack of any intimacy, the loss of autonomy and privacy. The lightness and irony of the portrayal makes it possible to smile about these problems, to be amused. At the same time, however, you are also encouraged to reflect on your own behaviour towards people with disabilities. The actors' stories transport us into worlds where we can make fun of reality, but also be touched by it. SUPERABILE is a small, almost "intimate" play in which our "different/able" actors/actresses are both performers and authors.

SUPERABILE was awarded the EOLO AWARD 2018 as the most innovative play at the "Segnali" theatre festival in Milan in May 2018. This prize is awarded every year by the trade journal Eolo in the field of youth theatre.
