South Tyrol, 1961. The northern Italian region is shaken by a series of bomb attacks. When Paul, a farmer’s son, wants to escape the lack of opportunities in his village and pursue studies in painting, he discovers that his older brother Anton is one of the attackers. While Anton goes on the run, Paul must take care of Anton’s wife Anna and their son. He is faced with a difficult choice: loyalty or self-realization?
