In collaboration with the Bolzano Film Festival Bozen, which this year focused on contemporary Catalan cinema, a significant collection from the Filmoteca de Catalunya is presented: Avantguardes amateur, amateur films that marked an important milestone in the history of Catalan cinema. The works reflect the social changes of the interwar period – between the late 1920s and early 1930s – ranging across avant-garde, documentary, and experimental filmmaking. Matteo Paggi and Andrea Grossi bring this pioneering spirit back to life with a live soundtrack spanning jazz, improvisation, and ambient music.
