NUBU stages a play between different eras: historical rarities such as the serpent and the flugabone meet natural-skin percussion and double bass. In a setting that is both archaic and modern, the voice is treated as an elastic material that pushes beyond convention, transforming into yodelling and calls. The ensemble builds a wholly personal folklore – a timeless yet energetic synthesis of jazz, folk, and free improvisation.
