Stroßnbluat - a "Korrnr" story, by Hans Renz

Directed by Hanspeter Plagg

The play is performed in the local German dialect.

Plot:

A small, secluded mountain village. Life there is characterized by long-standing customs, narrow-mindedness, and intermarriage. However, this order is powerfully shaken when a group of "Korrnr" (nomadic traders) travels through the valley and has to leave an injured man behind in the village for the winter. The farmer's wife of the Angerhof cares for the young man and eventually hopes to bind him to her.

Surrounded by narrow-minded villagers, she wants to convince a "man of the road" to settle down and turn him into a "respectable" member of society. But is the "blood of the road" (Stroßnbluat) stronger? Hatred and unrest sweep through the village. Two worlds and cultures collide. The difficulties seem insurmountable.
