Wild bees are fascinating insects: they are among the most important pollinators of flowering plants and therefore play a central role in preserving plant diversity and ecosystems, as well as in human nutrition. They are exposed to numerous threats—well known and well studied—that call for action to protect bees and biodiversity in nature.

The German-language lecture “Wilde Bienchen – Vielfalt, Bedeutung und Herausforderungen” invites participants to discover the lifestyle of these animals. The speaker is Petra Kranebitter, curator of zoology at the South Tyrol Museum of Natural Sciences.

The lecture of the South Tyrolean Flora working group will take place on Thursday, 18 December at 6 p.m. at the Museum of Natural Sciences.
