What is the relationship between humans and mushrooms? What are the culinary traditions, reflected in a colorful array of dialectal names? And what are the historical aspects of mushroom use in Italian cuisine? These topics have been the focus for twenty years of Nicola Sitta, who holds a degree in Natural Sciences, is an expert in mycotoxicology and ethnomycology, works as a freelance mycologist, and serves as a consultant for the control of preserved mushrooms.

He will discuss these subjects at the conference “Ethnomycology in Italy”, scheduled for Tuesday, March 17 at 6:00 PM at the South Tyrol Museum of Natural Sciences. Admission is free. Reservation is recommended.
