Solidarity concert of the orchestra "European Classics

From August 26 to September 3, 2023, the musical encounter European Classics - European Orchestra Week Bressanone/Brixen will take place. Under the lead of the Austrian conductor Prof. Peter Schmelzer, the orchestra "European Classics" will rehearse a top-class program and present it to the public in concerts in Bolzano and Bressanone. In 2023, the main piece will be Schubert's Great Symphony in C major. In addition, the repertoire will include pieces by persecuted composers from the first half of the 20th century. All concerts of the European Classics Orchestra Week 2023 will be held without any claim to a fee. No admission fee will be charged. Rather, the organizers kindly ask for generous donations for a good cause. All proceeds will go as a donation to the Philharmonic Orchestra of the city of Cernivtzi, Ukraine. Cernivtzi (formerly Chernovitz) is a historically and culturally important city located in the west of Ukraine and is currently a port of call for many refugees from the rest of the country, including many musicians. In this context, the Cernivtzi Philharmonic Orchestra is providing great humanitarian aid, giving the musicians work in the orchestra and providing accommodation as well as integration. European Classics feels obliged to support the orchestra in its difficult task by making a small contribution.
