In the exhibition sfóndi, a selection of new paintings by Thomas Grandi (b.1979 in Bolzano) is presented.

In the exhibition sfóndi, a selection of new paintings by Thomas Grandi (b.1979 in Bolzano) is presented. The word “sfondo” refers to the part of a painting that is furthest away from the viewers perspective, on which the foreground figures usually appear. At the same time, the title of the exhibition references the historical context and the scene in which the action of a theatrical or cinematographic narrative takes place. Grandi’s paintings open up still spatial settings in which a potential action might evolve, generating imaginary environments that invite us to wander in search for a subject, and a way out.
