MAD PUPPETS (Bozen) // LEADS (Brixen)

"44" is the name of the programme with which MAD PUPPET will be performing at Astra, because the band played their first concert 44 years ago - in 1980 - and have since released 44 original English-language compositions on recordings. Mad Puppet was one of the first bands in South Tyrol to play progressive rock. "That was quite unusual at the time - we were only 18 when our first record was released," marvelled guitarist and co-founder Christoph Senoner. Manfred Schweigkofler (vocals), Manni Kaufmann (keyboards), Michael Mock (drums) and Tom Pichler (bass) are also part of the band. The concert in Brixen will be a kind of "best of" from decades of music together, with some songs being "revived" for this tour that the five musicians have not played for over 20 years.

The Bressanone band LAEDS, on the other hand, was founded in 2013 by the three brothers Emanuele, Damiano and Lorenzo Colombi. After a few changes to the line-up, Gabriele Munini on bass and Raffaele Barberio on guitar joined the band. "Homestage", the first part of a double album, was the result of a significant step forward three years later, both technically and compositionally. Another three years later, the second part of the double concept album, "Bone Cage", was released in 2022.
