Pinocchio
Pinocchio returns to the cinema in the new adaption by italian director Matteo Garrone, with Oscar winner Roberto benigni as Geppetto and the young Federico Ielapi as the most famous puppet in history. An adventure for the whole family that brings the masterpiece of Varlo Collodi back on the big screen along with his most famous characters the fox and the cat, the talking cricket, Mangiafuoco and the Fairy with Turquoise Hair.
The symbol of the film, the wooden puppet who becomes a real boy, was made by Bruno Walpoth, one of the most important artists of the modern wood carving art in Val Gardena. Walpoth created two versions of Pinocchio for the movie, a log for the initail sculping fase of Geppetto and the of course the completed puppet. The final touches were added on set in Tuscany
