Open day 2024 - Concerts non stop

On Saturday 20 April, the Conservatorio Monteverdi opens its doors and invites you to discover the numerous musical activities on offer! From 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., up to 30 short concerts of all kinds will take place in the institute's historical premises, in the cloister - which will be open for the occasion - and in the nearby Dominican church. Classical, electronic and choral music performed by our students will delight the audience. Classrooms will also be open with the possibility of participating in open lessons on various instruments. In addition, teachers will explain the instruments to interested people of all ages. At the end of the day, the Conservatory Orchestra will conclude the event with music by Rossini, Strauss, Marquez and Piazzolla. Director Marco Bronzi: "I want the Monteverdi to regain its role as the city's 'musical living room' on 20 April, starting from its main entrance from the Cloister of Piazza Domenicani (which has been closed for too many years): an extraordinary musical centre open to all music lovers, but also to those who, although they love art and culture, do not have a specific musical culture, are not used to concert halls, but are interested in getting to know our extraordinary Conservatory and its historical, artistic and human heritage. Students and professors, in the name of great music, will welcome everyone by presenting their excellence on this day that promises to be exciting".
