On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the Olympic flame will make a stop in Brixen as part of the official torch relay for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan Cortina.

Reception at Cathedral Square

At 3:30 p.m., the municipality of Brixen and the tourism cooperative cordially invite all citizens to welcome the Olympic flame at Cathedral Square. The reception offers an opportunity to experience the spirit of the Games together and celebrate the Olympic symbol.

There will be a varied program of events on Cathedral Square: flags and the official Olympic mascot will be distributed, the mayor and deputy mayor will address the guests, and interviews with Olympic athletes from Brixen are planned. The highlight will be the arrival of the flame: skiing legend Kristian Ghedina will carry the flame across Cathedral Square as torchbearer, bringing the Olympic spirit to our city.
