Since 1991, the Slackers have released fifteen albums and countless singles, while their thousands of live concerts have thrilled their fans with energetic and ecstatic sets. The Slackers have been called "the sound of New York" by the New York Times. Brooklyn Vegan described it as "a clear blend of ska, reggae, and soul, enriched by Vic Ruggiero's rough New York accent."
