Of giants and dwarfs: hike with guide Gernot from Platt to the primeval larch and back to Platt along the Merano High Mountain Trail

Fancy a varied hike where you can discover the secrets of nature? You'll learn lots of interesting facts about the flora and fauna of the Texelgruppe Nature Park.
The guided hike starts in Platt/Plata and takes you to the impressive primeval larch - a real natural monument. The route continues along a section of the Merano High Mountain Trail, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The trail leads to Außerhütt and from there back to Platt. Along the way, you will encounter stories from times long past - of ancient trees, inconspicuous forest dwellers and surprising proportions in nature.

You will be accompanied by a trained nature park guide, who will provide fascinating insights along the way: which plants grow here? How does the landscape change throughout the year? Which animals are native, and how do humans and nature share this space? The tour is part of a series of nine guided hikes through the Texelgruppe Nature Park - each with a different destination, each path offering new perspectives.

Walking time: approx. 3.5 h | Difference in altitude: approx. 450 m

The event will be in German and Italian.
