Max Valier zwischen Wissenschaft und Vision
As part of the Max Valier Weeks 2025 (www.maxvalier.it), David Gruber will give the lecture ‘Max Valier - amateur astronomer, pseudo-scientist and rocket pioneer’ on Wednesday, 7 May at 6 pm at the South Tyrol Museum of Nature. The director of the Museum of Nature will shed light on the life and work of the Bolzano pioneer from three perspectives: as a passionate observer of the heavens, as an advocate of unusual cosmic theories and as a tireless pioneer of rocket technology. From his first observations of the moon and planets on Bolzano's Waltherplatz to his spectacular experiments with rocket vehicles, the lecture shows how Valier's enthusiasm for space continues to have an impact today.
