The performance of Ludwig van Beethoven's 9th Symphony in Brixen Cathedral, with soloists from four different countries, the National Youth Orchestra and the World Youth Choir, all under the direction of Jörn Hinnerk Andresen, will be a special event. The symphony with the choral finale of Schiller's “Ode to Joy” is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a symbol of culture and humanity. “Freude schöner Götterfunken” from the symphony's final movement has become a European anthem and a leitmotif for peace and international understanding.
