Genova & Dimitrov Piano Duo in Bolzano/Bozen
The duo composed of Aglika Genova and Liuben Dimitrov started their international career 30 years ago when they won the major international piano duo competitions within about two years: Tokyo, the ARD Music Competition in Munich, Dranoff in Miami and the Bellini in Caltanissetta. Since then, Aglika Genova and Liuben Dimitrov have been recognised as one of the world's most sought-after piano duos. They have been acclaimed by audiences and the press on the most important concert and festival stages in dozens of countries on all continents, performing on two pianos and piano four-hands in both recitals and concerts with orchestra.
Genova & Dimitrov can also boast an impressive discography: 17 CDs by the duo have been released by the cpo and Gega New labels. In 2020, cpo released a double CD with Rachmaninoff's complete music for 4 hands and for 2 pianos, which reached number 1 in the charts. Their album “Carl Reinecke - Complete Works for 2 Pianos”, released in 2022, also reached number 1 in the classical music charts in just one week.
From these albums, the duo will perform 4 Fantasiestücke “Bilder aus dem Süden” op. 86 by Carl Reinecke and the “Symphonic Dances” by Sergei Rachmaninoff, as well as Claude Debussy's “Trois Nocturnes”.
