In a small town somewhere in Pennsylvania, Milton spends his tranquil golden years doing yard work, attending community meetings and trying to keep his memory sharp. When a UFO lands in his flower bed one night, no one wants to believe the old man – not the emergency dispatcher, not the cashier at the supermarket and certainly not the town council. Undaunted, Milton decides to let the extra-terrestrial visitor with a fondness for apples stay at his place. Soon, Milton’s slightly wacky neighbours Sandy and Joyce discover his unusual roomie and take an instant liking to the visitor. Complicity becomes community, and neighbours, friends – until the government finally begins to search for the alien.
